tried to read it on connect but it keeps coming up as unavailable whihc is a total pain in the bum.
anyone happen to have a copy of it ?
has e36 error, hoping its not the boilpressureswitch/board as thats what e36 is on the ewm2000 s/m list :s

E36 is the anti – boiling switch fault on EWM3000 pcbs as well. Main board is the answer.
Configured PCB is available for that model – 97391460212901/2. Beware there is also a non – configured as well – don’t get caught out!!

what causes it tho ?
this machine has rarely ever had the dryer used, as they already had a separate dryer. just so happens the stats on the dryer blew so they used the w/d as their back up dryer and this happens. w/d had a heavily blocked sump, which was cleared before the e36 appeared. its disgusting if that is what has caused the pcb fault tho. is it worth changing the anti-boil p/s first before resorting to board reprogging, and im hoping emw will be able to sort it out because a new board pretty much writes this off…???

before u go down the pcb route, check the dryer heater insulation….i bet it is low, this normally causes E36!!!….if it seems ok, run the dryer for a few mins and then check insulation directly onto dryer element…
never had a lux machine with a failed pressure switch/pcb causing E36, always the dryer element…hope this helps!

It’s obvious when you think about it. So often this happens when it’s people who “rarely use the dryer.”

You got it!
Element stays cool for months on end in a humid environment because some water vapour is sure to travel up into the dryer section every time the washer is used. Result is element slowly but surely absorbs moisture, then when insulation drops below 40 megohms the electronics step in and shut everything down.

Had a rash of this fault recently, all on lightly used W/Dryers. not all coming up E36 either.
Two would just not start at all, removed all of the wires from dryer element and both of them sprang to life.
All cured with a new element.

just a hypothetical thought, if lightly used then surely they dont heat up often enough to dry the dampness off them, would this potentially cause corrosion at the endtry point of the element just behind the terminal weld point. if that makes sense. not an electrician so wondering if the corrosion would reduce the level of current it can handle and therefore causing surious error codes… ??? just a wonder.

Next time I come across one, I think I’ll bring the old element away and experiment with drying it out. If successful, I’ll offer it to next customer on a reduced-price basis (re-conditioned part) with equal guarantee (one year) to that given with a new element.
I guess the machines which designed the “pack up below 40meg” system, aren’t likely to be reprogrammed while Electrolux continue making money out of it.
Maybe I should suggest customers schedule in a “maintenance dry cycle” every now and again.

Your hypothesis appeared while I was writing my post so I hadn’t taken it into consideration. I have no idea how the moisture gets into an element. You could be right about the weld. I was wondering if water vapour could somehow get through the metal, perhaps through invisible microscopic fissures formed during bending for example.
