Machine is 12 years old and standard pcb burnout fault has been repaired 3 times, once with a new board. I now have same symptoms – sticking on wash cycle on normal washes, rinse cycle on quick programme. Board went to QER and has been repaired, but same symptoms occurring. QER have rechecked board and are sure it has no issues. Pump and heater both working, water being heated from cold feed.
I am in a soft water area (Edinburgh) so have never used salt or rinse aid.
Can anyone suggest anything else I can check? It’s an old machine but everything looks in good condition and I’m reluctant to change it unless I need to!

Does it actually heat? Main wash and second rinse are hot washes. Programme may not progress properly if temperature is not reached.

It’s definitely heating, though I haven’t measured temperature – door gets warm, outlet pipe is hot when pumping and interior of the machine is hot and steamy when the door is opened.
Ran it a couple of times since my last posting. For the first time, quick programme actually completed and finished with heater on for drying. But 65 degree intensive program took about 45 minutes on wash, about the same on rinse – then indicator bar went to “dry” but machine stopped without pumping out water. Had to press reset to pump dry.

Standard problem problem with these is underfilling due to the transfer pipe running across the front of the machine at the bottom sludging up. It can also choke the water level control chamber on the left hand side if particularly bad. Strange stuff then happens to programme times.
The other one to check on the older Bosch machines was burnt-out joints on the pcb. Again, they can be intermittent, but the timings go completely wonky.
Anything else is likely to be pcb related.

Thanks again. I’ve flushed everything out and it now seems to be working – has just completed a 65 degree intensive wash. Fingers crossed!
If it is/was a PCB fault I think it must be intermittent, because QER has fixed the board once and subsequently checked it over again.
I’ll see what happens over the next few cycles.
