ParticipantHi everyone,
I have been to an LG Toploader (WFT1031TP) and it says “bE” on the display. I rang LG Technical 😥 department and they said “its gotto be the reed switch.” Anyways, they sent me a reed switch, promptly fitted the said reed switch and it STILL DOES IT. I have checked the wiring to the switch and it is okay. I called LG back and they said “Its a wiring fault”. The looms were all showing OK. My only choice would be the board. I contacted LG and the guy on the phone was very offended and stated that “LG never have any problems with the boards so it’s not that. go back and look harder!” Cheek!Has anyone any ideas?
Cheers 😉April 30, 2004 at 12:01 pm #111407Dave_Conway

Oh how I laughed when I read this 😆
We have an ongoing WFT1031 at the moment, currently on order is the third PCB as the first two are faulty.
Order a PCB, but don’t expect it to work 😉

hi guys, experienced this once myself.
you need a ‘ball sensor’.
we fitted the ball sensor and the appliance worked after previously showing us 6e or be.
lg technical had no idea about this when we contacted them, instead we found the information from the customer’s handbook!
cheers.May 4, 2004 at 8:00 am #111409Dave_Conway

you need a ‘ball sensor’.Yep, technics1200’s machine may well need one, we’ve had one of these fail as well.
The machine we are currently waiting for a PCB for has a completely different fault.

Cheers guys,
I forgot to mention that i tested the Ball-sensor and was a semiconductor (cant remember if it were a Diode or a resistor) in it that was reading peculiar.
A ball-sensor has been ordered!Cheers matez.
P.S. i wish LG teccies were a bit more on-the-ball/brighter/less patronising! 🙄

That’s essentially what they told me, ours worked on the third pcb.
Still waiting for credit on the first two though 😥

Believe it or not the boards are rated a lower voltage than UK 230v.
Is it no wonder? I did think they had got over that one though.
