Participanthi
hoping for some help please….
so the drum on my dryer seems to not want to turn but the dryer still heats up?
i have had a quick look on the google and read it could be a bearing/shaft problem (not sure what these are)
so checked at the back of the dryer where there a little cover and when i undid the screws something fell out.. I have taken to top off and the drums seem really unstable kind off tilted back..
so guessing it does need a new shaft thing… i have noticed these fairly cheap to buy but what about the fitting is this something not to even atempt on my own or should i call out an engineer or replace the d ryer?
I have had the dryer around 4-5 years now?
cheers
claire

Its not that difficult if you have years of experience, much harder if you don’t, not the easiest machine to work on TBH.
Is the belt still around the drum ?

Bearing change is much harder than that.
When I do these I usually order the drum and seal repair kit. That includes both types of rear bearing, new front bearings and all of the other bits & bobs plus front and rear drum seals. Its not always neccessary to replace everything but if you get the kit it is cheaper than buying all of the bits individually.
It is just possible to change the drum shaft and rear bearing without removing the drum but it is a bit of a struggle and not something I would advise a novice to attempt, no offence meant by that BTW 😉 8)

Participantcheers thanks for your reply’s think i may look for a new dryer, engineers in blackburn seem to cost the earth cheaper to replace the dryer..
thanks again
