I have a Whirlpool AWO/D4505 washing machine, about 3 years old.

A technician says I need a new motor due to a damaged armature, replacing the brushes won’t solve the problem.

A new motor is around £160, another £30-40 to have it installed, unless I have a go myself. How ridiculous is that? How can the manufacturer possibly justify such an enormous cost when I can get a new machine for £200-250.

I will never buy Whirlpool again.
