    Hi all ,

The drive belt has snapped on my Hotpoint dryer.

    Model: VTD00P

I’ve had the lid off and found the belt laying overthe drum , and will order the part shortly .
First tho , I wanted to know the best way to refit the belt before I dismantle the wrong side for no good reason.

    Cheers

Not the easiest belt to refit. Several engineers use a special tool to force the new belt over the motor pulley.

You need to check the rear bearing as well in case it has worn through and snapped off. Right hand side panel looking from front is the best way to access. Be sure to remove the mains plug if you intend to have a go.

    THIS is the correct belt.

If you do get one you will be convinced you have been sent the wrong belt, you will think it is to small, it isn’t. 😉

    Hi guys ,
Ta for the advice , finally got round to putting it on today. Bit of a struggle but got there in the end by a little bit of persuasion with my gorrila bar and loosening the screws a little that hold down the motor.

    Sorted.

    Cheers
