I have just done a bearing replacement on the above machine, which went without incident, but when I returned the machine to the customer it would not do anything.

When the machine is plugged in the following leds come on on/off, spin and options 3 & 4. These leds stay on for about 10 seconds then nothing the machine will not respond to anything.

    Also the leds don’t flash.

According to the error codes 3 & 4 are ntc fault, but I have checked it and it’s ok. I gave the plug a squeeze to ensure a good fit, but still the same fault, I have been around all module connections as well to make sure they were ok.

I had on my van a spare module for this machine, so tried that on, but still the same problem.

Any ideas, have I missed something ? 😳

    Cheers

This may not apply but remember installing a new hotpoint machine where the socket outlet was wired up back to front, wouldn’t come on at all.
Probably not applicable to you but an item that is easily checked.

severe bearing failure hasnt led to the drum cheesegrating half the front of the thermister off by any chance? have noticed this several times when i used to harvest useful spares for recons… which is no longer viable

The thermistor is slotted into the back of the heater which is in a well below the drum, can’t see the drum ever touching the thermistor on one of these. 😉

Check that the two wires for the thermistor connector are not trapped in the rear access panel

    Cheers Loopey,

Turned out to be the top fascia board, on/off and start buttons were stuck because the return spring plastic thingy had broken. Can’t think how that happened 😳 but a cheap fix anyway.

    Thanks again everyone 😀
