There is an electrical type smell coming from the inside of the fridge section of my Beko fridge freezer. I have also noticed a small hole which has appeared at the back of the fridge (just above the 1st shelf), I don’t know if this related to the smell or not?.
The fridge appears to be working fine except for the smell. Any idea on what it could be?

    Hi.

I hope for your sake I am wrong but if that is indeed a hole then the smell is the refrigerant & if so, it won’t work for much longer.

In answer to your next question, no is is not repairable.

I don’t think it’s a refrigerant leak. The temperature still seems to be steady and the smell seems to appear at various intervals, usually a week or two. I am suspecting some kind of fault with the frost free system?

it looks as if the low ambiant temp heater located behind the liner wall has failed, do you have a switch next to your thermostat knob ?.
