ParticipantIgnored washer trying to tell me that it was intending to throw its counter weight just a bit too long, with fairly obvious consequences…..
No time to fix it myself, so it has been at the repairers for a month now. Front half of drum arrived promptly and is waiting to be fitted, but bolts are out of stock at their suppliers.
1) Are they likely to be in stock with you or is it a case of waiting for the factory order?
2) Is the part common to other machines? Common sense tells me it ought to be….What worries me slightly is the prospect of waiting for another month to be told that the part is no longer available.
Traipsing to the in-laws is beginning to loose its appeal!
Thanks in advance for your assistance,
Richard

Participantthere are 2 types of bolts for these machines
now, it was a known issue for the weights to drop off, and later models had proper, ‘bolt through’ type bolts and nuts.. the earlier self tapping bolts were phased out for that reason..
need to know which ones you need, i suspect theyre self tapping ones?oh, and if they are, someone needs to make sure that when the bolt snapped, it didnt leave a good length of itself in the rear half of the drum?
not a big issue, but the drum needs to come out so they can be drilled out

Thanks helo_75.
From the bits of bolt left on the floor, I assume they’re the self-tappers. Very thin ‘finned’, open thread. Similar looking to this:- http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Washing+Machine+Parts/Beko/Beko+Drum+Parts/2720500300+Beko+Washing+Machine+Lower+Counterweight+Bolt.html
Are they/were they unique to this machine?
Given that the spec changed, does that make it more likely that the part will be v. difficult to get hold of?Don’t want to throw away an otherwise reliable machine for the sake of 3 bolts…. 6 or so years old now, but other than a set of brushes last year, it hasn’t missed a beat.
Cheers,
Richard

Thanks again.
Looks like the bolts are due in tomorrow, so we should have it back by the end of the week at the latest.
Cheers,
Richard
