ParticipantI have removed my Indesit integrated unit ready to do the job in the morning.
How do I get to the element? Do I need to tip it on it’s back?

Sadly the OP replaced a Matsui with an Indesit DI450. :rolls:
From the frying pan into the fire
As this machine has the traditional element inside the tub rather than the unreliable tube type element the PCB is more likely to have caused a no heat fault on this machine..
BTW if the model number is DI450C then it is also a piece of China’s finest. 😥You should test the element for resistance/continuity/insulation before assuming it is faulty, unless of course you can see obvious signs of damage on the element inside the tub.
The element terminals can be accessed from underneath, plug out and lie it onto its left hand side ( from front ) remove base, element terminals will be obvious if you follow the element from the tub. Lie a few large towles on the floor first. 😉

My model choice is down to the limited availability in 450mm integrated models. It looks identical inside to the Matsui, but has been a good machine. It’s a DI450. I know I should have posted that at the time, but that’s what happens when posting after a few ciders.
The element was discussed in a previous thread. There is no question that it needs replacing as it is split open.
If it turns out to be terminal, what would be the best brand in the low cost range?

Didn’t Don (in the thread link Iadom pointed us to) advise you check out a Gorenje GVI60010….?

I did indeed, however as it`s now a slimline the OP is after the model now perhaps to take a look at should be the Gorenje GVI5539 or the GV51010.

I’ve just Googled and can’t find the slimline anywhere. I’ll spend more time on it should this be terminal.
Thanks for your help.

A list of Gorenje stockists can be found here if it helps.

I can see the element easy enough, but cannot reach the nut. What do you use?

A longer 8mm socket, usually available at specialist tool stockists rather than the likes of B&Q etc.

I appear to have two log-ins. Here’s the other thread.

I know I had trouble registering initially and had to do it again.

I won’t bore you with the reasons for your first login name causing problems, its a long, sad and sorry story. 😉 😥
That explains why I couldn’t find it yesterday. 8)
