I have a bosch exxcel 1400 express washing machine which won’t spin. The drum can be manuall turned and during a wash cycle it turns but there is no speed in the spin. When put on a spin cycle the display shows 11 minutes, the drum begins to turn and then the display drops to 1 min without any spinning. We have had the brushes replaced but this is still happening. Any ideas/ advice?
Many thanks 🙂
There is a distinct possibility that the worn brushes have damamged the motor itself. How worn were they and was there any major arcing/scraping noises prior to you replacing the brushes ?
Also , did you use genuine Bosch brushes or pattern parts ? Sometimes the new brushes will need ‘bedding’ in if the angled face on them isn’t sitting totally square to the commutator……and this is presuming the brushes have been put in the correct way !
Hi
Thanks for the reply. There were no arcing or scraping noises at all prior to the brushes being replaced. They were replaced by a service-man who did say that the brushes need bedding in but I have run several loads and it is still not spinning.
I dont think the replacement parts were bosch.
The machine now has a slightly noisier sound when it is running a cycle – could this be the brushes bedding in?
Prior to the brushed being replaced the fault happened intermittently with no spin on the was cycle but would then spin on a “spin” cycle, then this also stopped working.
Many thanks
