Anyone know a spares supplier for a thermostat for a Miele K2214S Larder fridge, it is a ranco type of thermostat with very short capilary.

    Bob.

Part number is 5317450 Connect want about £50 for it though 😯 and it’s a special order.

You could try Miele spares on 01235 402267 or……….

….. what’s the Ranco number on the stat ? There must be a suitable alternative.

Do what some of my customers do then (public), cut the end off and try and get me to replace it as it’s faulty 🙄

Don’t you just love the public sometimes ?

    😆

Nope, they’re everywhere. It’s the peril’s of living in a “DIY” orientated society.

Customer thinks….”If I can assemble a flat packed wardrobe , I can do anything” 😆

Now where did I put my nail gun……..

LOL, indeed and one of the reasons I really don’t like selling spares to the public as the vast majority of them haven’t a clue what they’re doing with them or the dangers.

But the thing about a flat-pack made me chuckle after the mail I got the other day from a university post gradute doing a study on whether it was feasable to have domestic appliances flat-packed and self-assembled by customers. I nearly wet myself laughing at the very notion of it and thinking on the legal proffession hearing a very loud “ker-ching”!

The worst of that is that this guy is supposed to be intelligent obviously and that these people are the future. Scary.

You’re not the only one to have been approached about flat-pack fridges. Some serious research is going on into this.

If this project does get going we would hope to supply the evaporators!

Cardboard fridges are already a reality. Ideal for merchandising displays where the same refrigeration system can be used again and again within a different display.

Regarding the original thread, I have a very strong suspicion that Liebherr and Miele are more or less the same appliances, if so, Coolectric, Nr Wakefield might have a part – 01977 665665, but no doubt at a similar rip-off price.

Presumably the system would have to be sealed and made in such a way that manual assembley of the fridge would not allow any pipework damage, fracture etc.

Leihberr are not the same as Miele as far as I am aware, the one’s we see certainly aren’t anyway.
