This is the french Arcline model with the recessed controls in the door edge and seems identical to many UK models bar the language on the buttons.
It ran for 3-4 years in france and has given a further 7 years excellent service in the UK to date.
Machine pumps out and fills correctly at start of each cycle but then just quietley hums without the familiar burst of noise as the water first starts spraying round in the box. This is the same on all programmes with hot or cold water used on the fill.
Looking at the recirculation motor it is not turning and is hot. I have turned the stator vanes with a screwdriver (power off of course) in both directions hoping to free any pump blockage and it was stiff but not crunchy. but this has made no difference.
Next move I guess is to remove the motor and test it on a bench if I can get my fat hands in there.
Is this a straightforward disconnect, unscrew and pull, leaving the pump in place or must I remove the motor and pump assembled?
Also is there a way of testing the capacitor to eliminate it as a cause before pulling the motor out?
Lastly what is the recieved wisdom on spending nigh on £200 on pump and motor (if this is the problem) on a 10 year old machine?
Hope someone has been here too and can share their experience.
