indesit widl146 – not filling

hello,

i would be grateful if anyone could help.

our indesit widl146 washer/dryer is no longer filling with water which from various searches indicates that there could be a problem with the brushes, but i would be grateful for any other feedback in case there is anything else that i may need to order.

the symptoms are:
all lights flash on unit when powered up – (as normal)
on/off button pressed and door lock light comes on – (as normal)
2h (delay timer/button with bubble logo on it – sorry don’t know what its called) lights up – (as normal)
lock light has now gone off and doesn’t come on – (not normal)
machine makes a switching noise (as normal)
water should then start to fill the machine, but this never happens ?

if the start button is then pressed again the lock light flashes as though it has finished

ps, if i put the unit on to just dry then that doesn’t work either and the machine needs to be switched off at the mains before the door can be open etc
