ParticipantHi, we’re in the process of a kitchen refurbishment and will be replacing all appliances. We’ve chosen Neff for the ovens, hob and hood – sticking with a brand we’re familiar and comfortable with.
What we’re not too sure about is on the dishwasher and washer/dryer – we’ve always had Zanussi.
We’re now going down the integrated route which is unfamiliar territory, so looking for a bit of advice – Neff/Zanussi – or what other brands can you recommend.
I like the Neff dishwashers as they have flexibiity in the heights of the baskets – I use a wheelchair so having the utensil basket right at the top would save me bending which is appealing – haven’t seen many others with that type of option.
With the washer/dryer, we’re combining to save space in the kitchen but not sure if that really is the best route to go down? Is it better to have separate appliances? I’m also not convinced by the Neff washer/dryer – seen a few bad reviews. Never had any previous issues with our Zanussi washing machine so wondering if best just to stick with that brand.
Sorry, aware that’s a lot of questions – but we’re really struggling with the decision making process for buying all these appliances at the same time and would appreciate some help!
Thanks

Some quick observations before Don, our man in the know replies.
Washer/dryer..Bad idea, get separates every time if at all possible.
Neff v Zanussi..Neff every time. There has been a marked falling off in Zanussi quality of late, lots of very expensive PCB repairs etc. some machines now made in China, some with the dreaded sealed drum.

Got to be Neff.
Zanussi bearings and PCB failures are very common in less than 3 years now.
Gone are the days when their appliances would last 15 years and more 😥Graham

These are the Neff models we’ve been thinking of:
Oven – B46E74 Series 5
Steam Oven – C47C42 Series 3
Hob – T43P90 Series 3
Hood – undecided
Fridge – K5624 Larder Fridge Series 4 (integrated)
Freezer – G4344 Series 1 (built under)
Washer Dryer – V6540 Series 5
Dishwasher – S51T69XIGBNo decisions on possibilities for separate washing machine and tumble dryer.

Some of the product links in that article will be out of date but the advice still stands.
A stand alone washer and a clothes line is a better option than a washer dryer unless you venture into Miele territory.
Also worth looking at Liebherr products for the refrigeration appliances. 😉

Iadom`s advice should be heeded 😉 much better to have seperate washer and dryer even if it`s a compact 3kg dryer you can wheel in and out of a cupboard when required.
My only questions would be do you need all the functions on the oven or would the B54M42 suffice? All the ovens in that range all have the slideaway door if that`s the main criteria. Again on the dishwasher would a series 4 or 3 be satisfactory or do you really need all those auto programmes?
As you can see I don`t like spending more than I have to 😉 but then again if money is no object why not 😀The other products you have selected so far are excellent machines, not only will they look good but should give you many years of good service.

Hi, thanks for the replies.
To give you a bit more info, some of the reasons for the product choices have more to do with the fact that I am wheelchair user, so ease of accessibility has been a factor as well as the actual functions of the appliances.
We’re refitting the kitchen so that everything is at an acceptable level for me and its proving tricky to accommodate everything at the right levels without completely sacrificing storage and worktop space. I think the tumble dryer might have to become a casualty if the advice is to avoid combining it with the washing machine as I really don’t think it can be fitted in separately and putting it elsewhere in the house isn’t an option either.
With the other appliances, we’ve chosen the oven because it has telescopic flexirails – do you happen to know if fitting these rails to the B54M42 would be a possibility?
Similar reasoning behind the choice of dishwasher is because it has the vario baskets and the drawer right at the top of the machine for ease of access for me – again do you know if its an option to fit to lower series models?
I’m with you on the not spending money where you don’t need to so thinking I need to explore solving accessibility/useability options more fully rather than just accepting that we have to buy the more expensive model!
Really appreciate the advice.

Hi merlin14
Aha I see the reasoning and the logic now 😉 In that case yes I agree in what you are saying.
The dishwasher you are going to have to go with I`m afraid as it`s the only one which fits your criteria. The single ovens B46E74 and the I presume you mean the B45M42? This Neff link compares both models and you can see which optional extras would suit you best.

ParticipantJust as a little aside , do you need a full size dishwasher ? Don might be able to advise on the model number but Neff are releasing a smaller built-in dishwasher that is approx the same size as a single oven and may be able to be fitted lower down allowing easier access ?

New models not yet on Neff website are 2 compact dishwashers in stainless steel finish. The 6 place setting S65M63 450mm height compact dishwasher standard width of 595 can be built under worktop or in column. It`s sister the S66M63 is 600mm high and 595 wide which carries 8 place settings and has the same build in or under option.
Both models are in stock at Neff and are available for delivery, both can be found in the new 2010 catalogue.

Hi do these models of dishwasher have doors on them like the bigger models or are they drawer type dishwashers? Thanks for the info btw.

The S66M63 has a drop down door as shown in the catalogue, so I can only assume the S65 has the same arrangement. A phone call to Neff on 01908 328300 is probably the best way to confirm the info is correct.

Hi, just another quick question. I can’t see the steam oven model C47C22 on the Neff website although it is in the catalogue, is this because its an older/discontinued model or a new model and the website’s just not been updated?

If you are looking at the 2010 catalogue then it`s new, like the two compact dishwashers which are not on the website as yet.
