KeymasterHi,
If there’s anyone out there.
I have an INdesit model w1435 washing machine.
I turn it on and set it to any wash cycle – the light flashed 3 times then goes out and the timer proceeds to turn round endlessly clicking as it goes.If you turn it off – turn round 3 times and touch your nose then turn it on it might work – but most time is doesn’t .
I have bought a new timer unit but the shop guy said it might be something else and if it blew up the new timer they wouldn’t replace it.
Any top tips out there ( I have a load full of toddler incontinence washing awaiting your urgent replies).
In appreciation
Rosie

rosie,
Actually what you have is a W143S (I think from memory the S stands for Silver?)and what you may have to do is call out a local engineer to look at it. It certainly is NOT the timer as that is only in fact a Selector Switch. The main programme control is via the Electronic Module at the back.
Check out our “Database” and type in you Postcode to find a local UK Whitegoods engineer to check it out for you.

Rosie,
We had the same problem and paid £90 for the repair.
After subsequent faults I found that the pump impeller had ‘GUNK’ wrapped aroung it.
I had to prise off the front cover with a knife and remove the threaded pump cover (on the right) with a pair of pliers.
Ensure your machine is empty.
Remove the gunk and replace the cover.
Be careful as the cover is easy to break.
Yours aye

Hi
try resetting the electronics by turning the timer knob to off position and press and hold the on switch in for 5 seconds. This may reset the eeprom on the board and allow a programme to start.
You should also consider that another problem may have caused your problem and if so, using the washer may bring this fault on again.
At which time you should consider having an experienced engineer have a look.regards

This washing machine has a tamper proof dial, if a todler touches the dial before it finsishes, the next time the machine comes on it will flash madly and return to the last good point on the dial
You can reset things by turning both the program dial and the temp dial to the top, turn the nachine on again, for a few seconds and then off. (I think at this point it flashes madly again)
