ParticipantCan anyone enlighten me why a Hvr VHW654 W/Dryer goes into spin on some tumble dry progs ? Beats me !
Also I am getting really cheesed off with the price of spares ( pcb / prog etc) costing so much and writing off 2 year old m/cs .
We need to campaign against this , losing too many jobs. I did try and get “which Mag ” to take an interest a year or so back but nothing came of it.

Lots of machines do a spin during the drying cycle, its part of the cycle.
Some Hotpoint W/Dryers have been doing it for 7 or 8 years now, they call it a,
Thermal Spin
A thermal spin on the High Heat setting is carried out at the start of the of the drying process. The load
is pre-heated to approximately 50°C by the dryer heater with normal tumble action and pump out.
The thermistor located in the wash heater will sense the load temperature and when 50°C is achieved
a 5 minute Spin profile will be carried out at full spin speed.
During thermal spin the out of Balance detection will operate and maximum speed will only be
achieved depending on the out of balance condition.
On completion of the Thermal Spin, the tumble drying process will commence for the period of time
selected.
Thermal spin is NOT available when low heat is selected.June 8, 2010 at 6:30 am #321868allan73

We all feel your pain bendy but it’s based on the 21st century sausage making machine working at full tilt supplying a hungry market. If one machine breaks down it’s cheaper to buy new than repair it. And statistically the chances of one failing is less than 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} over the expected life-cycle of sausage makers based on the many thousands sold.
If you can get your machine working for less than a new one that is regarded by the manufacturers as putting a spanner in the works and could reduce their overall future sales potential. Therefore they put the price of vital replacement widgets beyond economic sense for anyone to replace. Leaving the sausage lover no choice but to buy a new ‘and improved’ sausage maker! 😀
Hotdog anyone?…Mustard on it maybe?…English or French? 8)
