ParticipantDoes anyone have a good method for removing obstructions lodged between drums at the front on these.
Failed to get a drill bit out dispite attempting with various implements, i think it was inbeded in outer drum. 😡June 8, 2010 at 6:21 pm #321948Seamy

Have turened machines upside down to dislodge items like this, sometimes you can get in through heater aperture or take out drum lifter out to get at these. If it has its damage done its a tub replacement though.

The drill bit was firmly lodged at the front between the drums, i had the heater out and could just see the tip. As you say though the drum could well be shot :rolls:

I’ve always managed to retrieve drills and screws lodged between the front of the tub and the drum by finding out where it is – a large cable tie run round between drum and tub (through the door) usually finds it. Get it to the bottom if possible, then using a large srewdriver between the tub and the rim of the drum, ease the rim of the drum away from the door opening to open up the gap. The object can usually be recovered using a ‘magnet on a stick’ or tweezers/pliers whatever fits in there.
Brutal, but with care this can be done without damaging or distorting the rim of the drum.

Turm appliance on its head so drill bit is now at top of drum. wedge kitchen roll at 10 and 2 oclock. turn machine back to upright, and hey presto, drill will be sitting there.

Remove the door gasket. If it’s a non – magnetic item, use stiff wire to push a rag down one side of the object. Slowly turn the drum so the object rises to the top where it will fall out. Patience required!!
For metal items, use a strong magnet from the back of a speaker, put it inside the drum against the front face. Once the object is attracted to the magnet, turn the drum until the item is at the top and pull off the magnet.
