Hi, I have a problem with the above fridge and I am wondering whether it is fixable and worth calling out an engineer, whether its a simple fix I can do or whether I should just scrap it and buy a new fridge.

Problem is the fridge is suddenly not getting cold enough regardless of what I set the thermostat to. Interestingly the light is on and I can hear the usual noise it makes (this is the compressor right?). The top half of the back of the fridge is cold to touch and the fridge is slightly cooler than ambient room temp indicating it is just about working but not enough to keep my milk cold enough.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Lee,

It sounds as if the compressor is not pumping correctly. It’s difficult to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain but the thermostat would appear to be okay if it’s telling the compressor to run.

If the compressor is running and you’re getting some cooling then it is liable that that’s where the problem lies.
