    Hi all,

Can you help with the below?

    I am having a problem with a SMEG DWi710E1.

The cycle will start, and get to the rinse most times and then just get stuck – it won’t move to the end of the cycle.

Sometimes it won’t get to the rinse but still get stuck.

The water gets hot, the plates get cleaned (almost – depending on where it gets to – usually rinsed) but the cycle doesn’t complete.

The funny thing is I have no lights flashing etc. The light will remain on for the chosen programme and it will not go off because evidently it has not ‘completed’ the programme.

    Do you have any ideas?

Is it the timer (most expensive part) or should I investigate anything else before then?

I am getting a lot of pressure from my wife to fix or replace so unless I find a viable solution, it will be time to replace 🙁

    Thanks in advance

If you are getting no error codes being flashed up, the pcb has almost certainly failed. There are corruption issues with these machines involving the mains suppressor and the soap box release solenoid, which would be worth investigating.

    Power off first,

    Thanks Penguin45,

The soapbox seems to open fine during the cycles even though the cycle doesn’t stop.
Is there anything still worth investigating with regards the solenoid?

Also, how best to investigate the mains suppressor?

    Thanks for your invaluable advice.

some times it’s very obvious, the suppressor can be cracked, occasionally minor burn marks. Easy to find, follow the mains lead after you’ve unplugged it
