Need to replace my Hotpoint WD Model No.860p dryer heating element.
Can anyone point me to the right part number and how to go about replacing it.
    Any assistance appreciated.

Full serial number required, two different elements.

You just need to remove and split the heater box to change it, after removing the mains plug of course. 😉

Are the element terminals close together or about six or seven inches apart?

    Serial No. 802180194
Haven’t cracked her open yet to have a look. Same element was replaced shortly after we got it (was still under warranty), so I’m assuming it’s the same problem. No error msg is being displayed. Was goiing to order the part first, before operating, after I disconnected it of course 😉

Not the wisest course of action. :rolls:

The only way to proceed is to unplug, remove the top and test the element first with a suitable megger or multimeter.

You would have wasted a considerable amount of money if it was only a loose wire or more likely the TOC. 😉

Both types of element are available in The Shop@

One is the 1605221, the other is a C00080765.

    TOC ❓
Got a newborn with a pile of cothles and nappies so i’ll do both just in
    case.
    Many thanks for the advice.

TOC, safety stat, will often go open circuit. Usually caused by fluff blockages or faulty/sticking fan or motor.
