ParticipantHi
i have a Bosch SGS 09L12GB/14 Dishwasher, last night it seemed to take forever to finish its cycle. My wife opened it up and then tried to put it on a short cycle to see if it would finish, unfortunately all it did was say 38mins remaining and hung there, after a wile she opened the it asks you if you want to cancel, upon selecting yes it says close door to drain and after 1 min its finishes and goes back to the normal selection screen.
There was some food in the drain filter so we emptied it and tried again there was also a small amount of water in there, same thing happens.
Through various web sites i managed to find my way into the self test and after a little random button pushing i managed to get it to do a diagnostic run (program S3) when it seemed to finish it came up with his message :-
S03 I 00
and now the whole of the bottom of the machine is filled with water up to the door level, i can only assume there is some sort of blockage or a valve/motor isn’t working. I have been unable to find anywhere what the ‘I’ code is.
as a side note as the machine goes through its drain cycle, it humms quietly, then there is a noise akin to opening a bottle of coke, a little more humming and then a very quiet beep.
i hope i’ve explained this ok
thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give
cheers
Jim

Check the drain pump first-you will need to sponge out the water, remove the filters from the top of the sump and then gain access to the left side of the sump with a torx screwdriver as shown in the manual.
Check the vanes of the pump which you will just see at the bottom leftand make sure there are no bits of glass etc stopping them turning around.
you should be able to flick the impellor(pump end) around with your finger.
If this is jammed or failed then the machine wont drain. The other symptoms you are describing sounds like the machine is sludged up which will require a minor strip down and cleaning of the circulation pipes and pressure chamber.
This is well covered in the thread below.

As always be safe and power down before going in!

thanks mate
there did seem to be something in the impeller but nothing substantial, when cleared it seems to run but its very lumpy on start-up, seems as though its lost some windings so the motor might be nadgered. i’ll keep an eye on it and see how things go.
thanks again
