ParticipantHello again.
I recently (just over a week ago) fitted a new interlock and main PCB to the machine. Everything worked well for five days, then the machine stopped part way through a cycle with the ‘door locked’ LED not lit.
The interlock seemed to be working (locking and unlocking the door) but the PCB didn’t know when it was closed (does that make sense?).
Suspecting the PCB, I returned it to the supplier for testing, which turned out to be ok. He sent me another PCB to try but the same fault is still there.
I have cleaned and tightened all connections, checked continuity and hit the machine with a hammer, all to no avail.
I have ordered another interlock in the hope that it will cure the problem, but is there something that I have missed that could be causing this problem?
Are there any readings/values for the interlock so that I can test it? (I took the old one apart to see how it worked, and it has different resistance vlaues compared to the ‘new’ one).
Just had an email from Whitegoods saying my interlock has been dispatched; should I just wait until this arrives and try it, or can I be checking other things in the meantime?
(I also replaced the program/LED PCB late last year. Does this board have anything to do with the interlock? It seems not, but want to check all the same).
Many thanks in advance 🙂July 2, 2010 at 2:33 pm #324451DDSDDS

I didn’t know that. I’ll go look.
Many, many thanks helo_75 and DDSDDS. Your help is much appreciated.
Plus, I’ve learnt something new 🙂July 2, 2010 at 5:55 pm #324455timdowning

Do check the motor connections as well. Theres a distinct possibilty this is where your problem was all along. When you changed the module originally you probably disturbed the connector thus making it work for a while.
Do make sure to unplug the machine from the mains of course!
P.s. If i may, getting an engineer out originally could have saved you money & time.

Well, you guys were spot on!
I took the motor out tonight and had a look. The brushes weren’t bad, but the slides were full of carbon, stopping the brushes from moving.
After a good clean I put it back together and it worked!
I had assumed that a motor fault would have it’s own fault code, with flashing lights, bells and whistles, so I didn’t even think of going there in the first place.
(The original problem was a slightly charred interlock and a blown board. The second fault showed exactly the same symptoms, which is why I thought it was another interlock fault!)Many thanks once again everyone.
