ParticipantHi folks,
I’ve got a 1051-2 double oven which has been fantastic for 20 years. Recently it started tripping the house out and finally the circotherm oven refuses to get even warm.
The fans work, but the elements don’t.
However, the other control knob for the circotherm oven which turns it into a conventional oven, or a large grill, works fine – so it is not the element that has blown. I can see that it all gets red and it looks as clean as a whistle.
I took the oven out to have a play, and noticed that the partly bare wire leading from the control knob to the thermostat(?) was out of its slot and touching the frame of the oven. I moved it back into its slot, tripped the house out and now neither control knobs worked – at all.
The lower conventional oven has continued to work fine all along.
Both fans rotate freely and are clean enough, so any ideas would be warmly welcomed. Thanks.

Silly sod!
I forgot that when the oven trips you don’t get the upper oven working without pressing a few buttons!!
So, the lower conventional oven/grill works fine.
The upper conventional oven and grill work fine.
The circotherm fan comes on but there is no heat whatsoever. As before, any ideas more than welcome.

It can’t be the fan element unless it is hidden from sight. Are there three elements, and one is hidden behind a plate or something?

I found the little b*****d – and yes, it has blown. The ID plate on the oven is so badly worn that I can make out another number but have no idea what it means.
135.306925
this is underneath the GB number
The model is definitely 1051-2 and there is also 6808 stamped on the plate.
