Could anyone please help. I am trying to remove the pump cap to clean out any rubbish that may be inside as per the user manual. The user manual implies that you merely need to rotate the cap to the left and then pull it out.
My machine is unplugged (so electrically safe – with no programme running), when I attempt to turn the cap to the left it does not want to travel any more than about 75 degrees rotation. I dont know where the start position should be (horizontal or vertical?). I have tried pulling it at both positions and the cap will not budge. I dont want to start getting aggressive with the plastic cap for fear of breaking something but a piece of plastic should not be allowed to drive a grown man to tears – help!!
i would think that there must be a foreign object in the filter which is preventing it from turning, if you try and force it you will break it.
you will need to remove the sump hose from the side of the pump filter housing to see if anything is in it.
plug out of course.
Any chance you could give me a bit more detail of how to do this. I am not a washing machine engineer but perfectly capable with spanners etc. just need a little bit more direction, Thanks in anticipation.
