ParticipantHi
New to this forum and it seems full of excellant advice on problems but not the one I have!
My machine is 7 years old and I though senility had struck when I prorammed a wash and opened up at the end to find the rinse light flashing. :rolls:
My mistake I thought so next time I set it to rinse I thought it was taking a long time so opening up and found that the normal wash light wash on.
I got my husband to do the next couple of loads with no problem- its getting me worried enough to think about seeing a doctor! 😕
But on the 3rd & 4th loads it happened to him as well-
So is it a joint doctors appointment or is something really wrong?

thanks for reply 🙂
when I put it on rinse after it finished the 2nd light was flashing.
When I put in on normal wash (2nd light) it ended up with the 4th light flashing but the soap dispenser had opened and the soap had gone
hope that helpsJuly 7, 2010 at 2:46 pm #324816iadom

The error codes are only a guide on these ‘Indesit’ dishwashers.
Light 2 flashing is supposed to signify a fill valve fault.
Light 4 is a no heat fault which is very common and could also lead to a spurious code such as 2 flashing.
Some of these machines have the internal, tube type heating element and others have the heating element that is visible inside the tub, like a large ‘L’ shaped kettle element.
The tube type element is prone to failure and if you do have this type then that is the first thing to test.
Mains plug out, access from underneath, heater needs testing for resistance and insulation.
If the heater checks out perfectly then there is a good chance the control PCB is failing, again very common. 😥
If it not something you feel you can tackle then try the link at the bottom of this post to see if we have someone who can help.

🙂 Thank you all for your answers.
My husband took it apart and cleaned it out ans now seems to be working OK. -
