Re: LG intellowasher WM-1371 FHB Drum bearing change
I have only done this once on an AEG, but belive that the main steps are equal for all “new” machines. Do you have any mechanical experience, such as chaning wheel bearings on any vehicle?
I belive that the inner drum are hanging on two bearings in the back (the front is the throw-in) inside a two-part housing. The housing are supprted by coilspring on top and dampers beneath. This assembly (housing and inner drum) must be dissmanteled and placed on the work bench. Then split the housing and remove the front part.
Now, the inner drum can be removed. In my case I had to knock/drift it out as rust had developed between the inner bearing and the axle, so that the outer bearings came out with the axle.
From here you will need a puller to remove the bearings from either the axle or the housing. They are press fitted in the outer bearing and free to slide on the axle, but as I experienced they sat harder on the axle than in the housing. (I dont know if you can knock them with an extruder from the back side..)
It’s a half complicated job, but no way imopssible…if you have the vitality to start.. Good luck! (;
