ParticipantMY washing machine gets stuck half way through a wash cycle and will go on and on forever if you let it and will not change over to rinse and spin , if you press cancell and choose rinse and spin it will complete the sequence , it just wont get to that stage autmatically when doing a wash ? I think the cause of it was the machine was over loaded, the amount of times I have told her not to over load it as well :bang: any help would be much appreciated 😀

Could be a faulty heater.
The element needs testing for continuity/resistance with a suitable megger or multimeter, with the mains plug removed of course. 😉

Hi iadom
Ummm, I dont have multimeter but if I try and do another wash and just feel at the glass in the door this should tell me if the water is heating up or not ???? :rolls:

It would if you have the time to sit and watch it. 🙂
TBH the only way forward is to test the heater, it may be faulty but it could also be a wiring connection fault.

Hello again
Well today I took the back plate off the washing machine to see if I could locate the heating element, it was so easy because it was right in front of my eyes and guess what a wire had come off its terminal so I thought bingo sorted popped it back on made sure it was secure put the back plate back on and put pipes back then washer back in place plugged in machine switched on EXPECTING all to be fine and nothing no lights on to indicate its working as it should do all I could see was a faint light on the reduced creases bit, its now more defuncked than it was before grrrrrrrr, help help any clue as to whats wrong 😕 😀

You might have a faulty connection inside the plug or in the wall socket which was disturbed if and when you unplugged it. Try it another socket if possible.
Apart from that you may have disturbed some other wiring as you were working inisde the machine.

Well if I could kick my own arse I would do, after going through the steps I had done on the machine which was very little I suddenly remembered that I forgot to turn the cold water back on to the machine which must have given the problem of nothing working as posted in my last post, so at the moment the machine is running and I am wating to see if it now goes full cycle from start to finnish, will post back soon with a result.

Big smile on mi face washing machine now working fine, its surprising what one little loose wire can do and thinking about it with the vibrations that a machine can give off during a spin cycle a wire can and does come off and also a simple thing as not turning the water supply back on (douhh ) to the machine as I found out, anyway thank you Jim for pointing me in the right direction to start with and I must say all you guys do a good job here :salute:
Oh and I did say sorry to the missus for blaming her in the first place but i think it was at least half warranted as she does over load it so lets see how long it is before she starts doing it again. :rolls:
Regards Karl.

Overloading rarely if ever causes mechanical or electrical faults on the machine.
The real problem with overloading is poor wash performance. 😉Usually if a wire has come adrift then we would cut off the original connector and replace with a new one.
