ParticipantHi,
We have a Lavamat L74650 which developed the E20 fault again last week (did it last year, engineer found nothing but said he had reset unit – not sure how)
I checked the drain filter, bit of fluff nothing else, cleaned and replaced. The code disappeared but now the machine just sits trying to pump out – doesn’t matter what program is selected.
I have put some water in to the machine via the drawer and placed the drain hose in a bucket and it pumps out the water at what looks like a good rate.
There is a black rubber pipe inside from the drum to the pump and inside is what feels like a ball – should that be there? I wasn’t able to get in to take the pipe off so couldn’t get a look..
Thanks in advance.

Anyone know the reset sequence for this machine? Does leaving the unit unplugged for some time do the same thing?

Well, called out an engineer in the end.
He turned up and couldn’t find anything wrong (again!). He plugged some equipment into the washer and now it works….I’m assuming this bit of kit resets the machine.
Another £42 for apparently nothing.
So thats ~£200 in call outs in just over 1 year of ownership. Not a good buy!
Got to find out how to reset this machine.

The rubber hose between the drum and pump should not have a ball inside. If you can, take it out and clean it. Also run a 95 degree wash with vinager to loosen up dirt and build-ups in the system.
I had a 74339 with a similar problem; the program where hanging at one time on the count-down. My guess is that the pump/hosing is blocked in some way and that this ends in the error code.
These types of problems are not easy to recognize, hence the quick “engineer”. A mechanical (ie blockage) problem that screams computer/ECU… (;
Good luck!

Oh joy! The problem has repeated itself, exactly the same issue. Lots of debris in the filter this time, so cleaned it out. But again, machine sits constantly trying to drain out – which it does ok, just won’t stop.
Just short of doing a Basil Fawlty with a branch on the thing I started stripping it down and found nothing blocked anywhere.
I found an expensive work-around though – I just ordered a Beko instead! Fingers crossed this one will be better 🙂
