    Hi Guys,
    My dishwasher had developed a fault. Last night when it was loaded up and started it started making a funny noise. Pulled it out and took the sides and kick plate off. The problem is the water comes in and fills the machine but appears to overfill and activates the small red flot which triggers the drain pump. This fill, pump, fill, pump just keeps going. the only way to stop it is open the door. The water supply fault light is on. There doesnt seem to be a problem with water getting to the machine. Any help would be great.

    There is a small water flow meter connected inline with the cold water inlet hose. It is a small white circular object in the back left bottom orner underneath the water matrix. This will have prob failed.

    Part No: 424099 impellor jug

    This flow meter sends informatio back to the control module and tells the machine how quickly its filling. When it fails , the machine has no idea on water levels so just keeps filling. The red float is the ‘overfill’ safety ystem hence its being triggered by the high water level.

    replace the flow meter and all should be well.

    POWER OFF AT ALL TIMES WHEN WORKING ON THE MACHINE

    Thanks for that Paul. I though it could be this but wasn’t sure. Is there a way of testing the jug meter with a multimeter? If I get the old one off can it be cleaned up or are they chuck-away items?

    They’re not too expensive (maybe £13:00 odd ?) and i have had one that i thought i’d cleaned up but failed again in very quick time. Its easiest and best to replace it .

    Ok mate. Taken onboard and ordered a new one. Hope it fix’s the problem.
