    Hi there,

I have an AEG Electrolux wall oven model SEO 76. A couple months ago my oven started making a very loud noise when the cooling fan turned on. Its been getting louder and louder so I’ve been trying to fix the problem. Everything else seems to work just fine (thermostat, elements, etc).

The cooling fan is able to blow the air quite well and operates for about 15 minutes after i turn on the oven, but it is uncomfortably loud (When the oven was purchased 2.5 years ago, the cooling fan was pretty quiet and was not a problem).

When I opened up the unit, I noticed that when the DC motor shaft rotates it rubs up against the rubber gasket which connects the motor to the actual fan and it creates the same vibrating noise. I tried using an oven safe adhesive on the gasket/motor shaft… the good news is the noise stops, but then the cooling fan doesn’t seem to cool very well (it seems like it rotates slower). After the adhesive “wears out” the vibration noise starts happening again and the cooling fan seems to work ok again except for the noise.

Is it possible that I just have to replace that rubber gasket? Any other ideas?
