    I have to fit a base element to one of these on monday but cant actually see how to do it. from the quick look i had it appears either the whole front has to come off or, somehow the panel under the element has to drop down into storage drawer. If anyone has any advice i would be very grateful as it looks like a complete nightmare!

    remove back panel, locate the screws which hold the bottom plate and remove them, at the front locate the screws for the bottom plate (they minght not be there on some models) remove and the bottom plate from inside the pan draw, it will come down its bit fiddly but it does come out, replace element and reverse its not too bad just time consuming and fiddly.

    How did you get on? I have one to do and it looks like they have pop rivited in the bottom plate is this norma; or is it the 3 screws above them?

    It was just as Bob said. Took all of 10 mins to fit. It was a few weeks ago so dont remember if there were any rivets below.
