ParticipantHi, supplied and installed new dishwasher this afternoon. Got called back an hour later as it was leaking. Went back and checked the obvious and installation was ok. Took the rh side panel off and found it leaking from one of the o rings where the side tank meets the softener. Thought I would just pop the tank off & re-seat the o ring, but this model has a vent from the side tank to the tub and I couldn’t see how the plastic securing ring on the inside of the tub came off without breaking it. Anybody got any idea. I know I should just get the customer to call Bosch, but I feel bad leaving her with a brand new leaking machine. Thanks, Wizard.

ParticipantThere is a special little tool that has 2 lugs on it that seat inside the inner ring which then unscrews…..HOWEVER , its not the sturdiest of things so best not attempted without the special spanner !!!

Thanks Paul, I did try a pair of long nosed pliers, but thought better of it. Do you have a part number for the special tool, I’ll leave it for the Bosch guys this time but could do with one for the future. Cheers, Wizard.

I think it may be 341313 that fits that vent outlet…not sure 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} though. 😕

Been trying to get one of these tools since I first wrote the post. Original machine repaired by BSH but I now have a SMS50E02gb/02 with a leak from the side chamber. BSH are saying that the part no. doesn’t exist and are not being at all helpful (used to be a though and through Bosch man but am getting more and more p***ed off with their attitude). Can anybody help with an alternative part number or some way I can get hold of one. (even a photo of one would help so I can make one). Thanks, Wizard.

That part number (341313) comes up as an auxiliary tool on both the Connect and MasterPart sites, although they haven’t got them in stock, so would be a special order. Have you tried getting one from either of them?
It sounds like a peg spanner to me, though, unless the lugs on it are arcs, which are profiled to sit snugly inside the grooves of the securing ring?
I don’t have one of these tools, but would also like to get hold of one.
Anyone got a picture of one, please?
