    Hello,

    RE: WHIRLPOOL FRIDGE/FREEZER S20DRSS10
(Freezer on left/Fridge on right – no outside dispenser).

Please help, our fridge/freezer has the following things wrong with it:

It started making a loud fan/motor running sound, it is continuous and only stops when you open the fridge door.

The beeping warning alarm that the fridge or freezer makes when you leave the door open too long, to warn you to close it is continuous even when the doors are shut.

The numbers on the control panel in the fridge are flashing.

The display in the fridge should read ‘OK’ but doesn’t.

Both the fridge and freezer are warm.

We have switched it off, checked it over, taken things out. We have been quoted £200 for it to just be looked at. It cost £900 and it’s 4 years old. We wanted to know what was wrong with it before paying someone only to tell us it’s not worth fixing.

Does anyone have an idea what it could be? how much it would cost? if it’s worth fixing?

    Thanks
    :conf:

It sounds like your defrost heater is not kicking in for some reason.
Could be a loose connection to the heater, a faulty heater or a faulty control board. Is there a build up of ice on the rear wall of the freezer?

I mean inside the fridge and the freezer is warm, it’s basically not cool at all now inside, no build up of ice or anything, if anything it is defrosting.

Is this going to be an expensive repair do you think?
