ParticipantHi All,
First time poster here so hope I got the info right.
I have a Whirlpool AKZ446 Single oven which following a power cut (possible caused by the oven being turned on, can’t be sure) is now displaying the word STOP on the display.
Normally I would just press the middle button and I could then set the clock and use the oven as normal but nothing is happening when I press the middle button.
I’ve tried turning off/on, I’ve tried turning off at breaker in the CU and holding the middle button down while turning it on but still it just displays STOP.
I’ve checked the elements and all seem fine, no visible burnouts on the control board.
Any other items?
Could the button be faulty? or is the main board knackered?
Any ideas would be great.
Regards

Has the main oven knob been switched to the off position before you press the middle button??
If not turn it to off then try again, if it is at off and still does not set then the most likely culprit will be the middle button.

Thanks for the response, yes I’ve had the left knob in all the positions trying to get it to do something. Is there anyway of bypassing the button?

Hi Al,
We would never condone bypassing anything, the button is there for a reason and if bypassed and something went wrong your house insurers would not pay out.
If you can have a multimeter it is easy to check and see if the button is faulty. If it is faulty can you post the 12nc number from the oven ( on the barcode label starting 85***) and I will get the part number for you.
