We have a Samsung RL33SBNS that’s just over 2 1/2 years old. All was fine then suddenly the fridge section stopped cooling, with no air coming through at all. The freezer was fine.
I contacted a local appliance repair man who said in most cases like this it was because the freezer was frozen up, blocking the air. He recommended we defrost it for a good few days as they are so insulated. He also said that when we turned it back on, not to set it too cold as people always set them too cold… We did this and when we turned it back on again it was running fine. This was just over 2 weeks ago.
When we went to bed on Sunday night, all was fine, then got up Monday morning to a warm fridge. Again, the freezer was fine.
The fan and compressor appear to be running fine. I checked the damper thingy in the freezer when it was off, and could move it (I couldn’t see properly as I couldn’t get the whole back panel off – the top clips didn’t want to release, can i just pull it?), when I turned it on again the damper closed.
Any ideas? I’m so frustrated I could scream! 😡
Thanks in advance.
