Not a query just a point to make a note of (if it hasn’t already been posted elsewhere).
Went to a WMA46 recently and at the point where the interlock connects to the board it had blown the tracks.
Fitted a new interlock and a second hand board while QER did their magic,
got back to customer to be told it did four washes fine on the fifth it blew again. 👿
Checked the machine out further and found that the motor loom was completely ragged at the back of the front weight.
The loom was cable tied to touch the back of weight and had worn through shorting the wires on certain spins.
Just another one for the book.

    hi all
Had a wma33p today with a blown board
the drain pump plug had arced, and the door lock tryac had exploded right of the board.
Cons said had power cut during the final spin so put it down to that.
But I think i’d better check the harness pump/motor ete before I fit the new £60 board.

    Ta for warning me 🙂

    Paul,

    Best advice mate, don’t!

It’s OK for the likes of Merloni to send an engineer (if they have one that is?) ‘cos they just throw new parts in ‘willy nilly’ in the hope it fixes the problem and it costs them NOWT! 🙁 The likes of you and I have to make a full check throughout to ensure we haven’t overlooked anything before ‘switching on’ !!! And if we have and bugger up a perfectly good module…who pays eh 😥

Don’t risk your money AND your good reputation in the hope you may fix it and make a bob or two. As if it goes BANG even after a couple of weeks washing, YOU will be to blame and YOU will pay.

God I hate these modern electronicals, don’t you 😕

A sad inditement of the quality and price level of some of the appliances out there 😥

streetlighter wrote:O well didn’t whant a new van anyway 😥

TBH, with the above problems, we really ought to be charging the same rate for write-offs as fully repaired appliances, I know most don’t or offer a lower rate, but why ? It takes the same time/effort etc IMO 😕

Good point about the Vogue 2 range it could be any no. of things that cause this problem and there are not always obvious reasons why the company angle on this is to change motor, lock and board because they aren’t sure exactly what the real cause is

vogue 2 relates to the plastic tub which splits in the middle wma range and some credas
new machines are brilliant hotpoint tub merloni electronics
should be a real class combination 😆
