Hi, I have a whirlpool scw1012, it is just over 2 years old. I have had problems with the door not opening at the end of a wash. This could normally be fixed by running a 6 minute spin. The problem has gradually got worse over time and eventually became permanent. I cleaned out the filter and restarted the machine. Now I get a consistent error code f11. Regardless of the programme the machine will start, begin to fill with water for about 5 seconds, then stop and give the F11 error code. I have re-seated all the connections on the ccu and door mechanism.

I found a lot of info, most from the US on the poor quality of the electrics, particularly on the ccu board, and information about the 2 Omron relays on the board. I did check these and sure enough 1 had slightly burnt contacts. I have cleaned these swapped them and re soldered them but the same error persists. There was also a lot of talk about cracked solder joints, I haven’t checked thoroughly yet but that would be my next task. F11 appears to be a serial communication error and I am wondering what it should be trying to communicate with just after beginning the water fill

    Any help greatly appreciated

    Re: Whirlpool SCW1012UG

Having read a repair manual for a whirlpool duet found on the web the first part of the cycle is a child safety programme which precedes every programme :- door locks, 3 seconds of water fill, 5 seconds of door open, then door lock and programme starts. I don’t get the door open phase, so I’m guessing that either half the solenoid on the door lock is blown or the ccu is not providing voltage to it. The later seems more likely since the coils tested good for continuity and I could only see voltage on 1 of the 3 pins on the door lock actuator. Anyone know what may be the problem?
