I have just bought a new oven. The hob is gas and the oven itself is electric.

Between the grill element and the top o fthe inside of the oven is a metal plate/sheet (don’t know how better to describe it). You can push this plate upward a little bitte, 4 or 5 mm, but it always falls back down again.

Is this supposed to be like this? I only ask because when I don’t push it up part of it touches the grill element, is this ok? It seems to still work. Is this dangerous?

If it is not supposed to be like this, can I fix this? I don’t want to bring it back just because of this unless I have to.

    Thanks.

    Hi Coxy

Thanks for the info. By the looks of it you are in Germany and the cooker is indeed a German model which I am not familiar with. At a guess I would say it`s a heat deflection device.

A read of the instructions may reveal the answer. I wouldn`t use the cooker until you know for sure what it is. Failing that you would need to contact either the retailer where you made the purchase or indeed the manufacturer.

    HTH 🙂
