I have a APM 6121/6125/6115 refrigerator and freezer. It constantly makes a noise (the fan I think), the door is firmly closed and its a low setting (in between 2-3) which is sufficient for me as I live alone. I even had to turn it off for the night when I had a guest staying over in my living room (my kitchen is all in one with my living room), becasue it’s so noisy. ALso it has a huge build up of ice at the lower back wall of the fridge! I have to keep chiselling it of with plastic spatula every 2 months, and its about a foot long! Any ideas why…do i need a new fridge or is it fixable?

Presuming ice is on inside of freezer, possibly defrost problem, you will need to switch it and leave with door open for 48 hours, yes 48 hours to ensure that all ice is gone from behind the back plate of the freezer, what you see is just the front,it will be all iced up around the fan.
There will be lots of water from defrost. Then switch on again and see how fridge runs,if it happens again in a couple of weeks it’s engineer time.
