Went to a DE6544 D/W 911888012/01 2 months ago – wash motor was pulsing whilst on the initial drain cycle.
Checked all the electrical readings, replaced the detergent dispenser, as its readings were well out, then changed the main PCB. This didn’t stop it entirely, but it was then only short pulses. Customer was happy, so I left it, knowing it would be back to bite me.
Just had a phone call, saying it’s doing the same thing again, but with a terrible whining noise.
Anyone had experience of this problem, that could help me, please?

Not sure, off the top of my head.
Would that cause the motor to pump when it’s not supposed to? Or is it actually supposed to continue trying to pump when the machine hasn’t got enough water for it to pump?Re: Zanussi DE6544 D/W motor pumping strangely
Isn’t it the dishwasher with same motor that reverses as it drains & goes different direction for wash. I think i remember there being a problem with the pressure/level switches, hoses to them & fill matrix that caused problems lik yours. There may be a kit available which has different routing of pipe to pressure sw’ so as to prevent water/gunge lying in it. But if you clean out gunge it should help it.

I’ve just been out to it and the motor’s screaming like a banshee, so it sounds like a new motor is required, too.
We’ve decided to send it to the dishwasher house in the sky and they’re going to get a new one.
This poor old machine has had a good innings, doing at least 3 washes a day in a council offices’ kitchen, so they’ve had their money’s worth.
