    We have a problem with a Hoover HNL7166 , S/N 3100197608029616 whereby the only light that comes on when selecting a program is the
    ” stop “light which flashes . It will not lock the door , and will not allow us to enter diagnostics . We have had a similar fault before on a hoover machine which proved to be a faulty main module which we replaced and cured the fault . We have replaced the main board on this machine which has not solved the problem . We have also ruled out the door interlock , and checked the obvious ( pump , heater , valves , connections etc ) . Any help on this one would be appreciated .

    Have you checked the switch pcb for dodgy connections around the start switch cos i think the stop light stays on until start is pushed.

    Ditto on that one….often hand-fisted users push buttons too hard and the panel falls away.!!! (best to refit using self tappers.:wink:)

    Thanks for the reply Simon , we had looked at the board but after reading your comments we have gone back to it . There does seem to be ” corrosion” on a couple of the swich connections . The other interesting thing is that we cannot select any options i.e.stain blaster , sensitive care etc.

    I have a machine with exactly the same fault. Sent board to EMW, came back as repaired (won’t tell me what the fault is, and they have returned a different board to what I sent) and still get the same fault. Only difference I have is that I can select the options. Still the display board??

    Dunno? Does the interlock lock? Any visual damage on the coreboard?
