ParticipantHi There. Wonder if anyone can help. Went to get a load of washing out of the machine yesterday and the spin light was flashing and there was water in the machine. Tried to drain the machine but nothing happened but the motor sound and tried to spin but not turning but could still hear the motor sound. what could be the problem. I ended up draining the machine with the hose at the bottom of the machine as well as checking the filter which had some water in but drained ok. Model number is WF02064GB.
Any suggestions as to what it could be?
Thank you 🙂

ParticipantYour appliance won’t spin with water in it….and from description , i’d say you have a draining problem.
If you put it on a drain/empty cycle , do you still get the ‘motor’ noise ? If you do , then the first thing i would be checking is the drain hose connection. Does it connect under your sink ? Thats the first port of call !

Thank you for your reply. My husband took the machine out and checked all the waste hoses and pump and found that the container return was blocked. This goes between the pump and the waste outlet. It was caked in gunk and hair! Im wondering if it was caused by liquid detregent? as when I started using this my machine became smelly….
Anyway its great that ive found this forum as it is a great source of information.
Thanks again for your reply.

Are you in a hard water area? Excessive dosing of any detergent will cause a build-up of scum which will block anything it sticks too.
As for the smell, you need to do a service wash once a month which involves using a standard auto powder (Persil, Ariel etc) and running a 90C whites wash.
Have a look HERE for more information.
