    Hi.
Does anyone know how the stages of the wash cycle for the IDL535.
On startup the other day it groaned, started smoking and stopped working. Luckily I was there to kill the power going to it!
I’ve taken the base off and am trying to determine which part has failed. I’m assuming it’s either the drain pump or the recirculation pump?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

If either has failed and burnt out it should be obvious.

You can easily see the windings of the small drain pump.

Are there any rusty stains on the baseplate directly under the main circulation pump or signs of leakage?

If so then a main motor/pump failure is a strong possibility.

    Thanks for the reply iadom.

The drain pump works fine as I ran the washer and it whirred away perfectly. I’ve removed the recirculation pump and will hopefully have a new one arriving tomorrow (£80…. 😕 !).

There is a small amount of rust on the base plate but mainly on the outer side. I’ll have to ensure all the tubes are water tight on reassembly!

    Thanks

    😥

Well I installed the new circulation motor and ran the machine but it’s not working. The machine fills and drains as normal but does not operate the motor. I’ve double checked all the connections & everything is where it should be.
Any ideas? Could it be something to do with the PCB?
    Ta!

Sadly Indesit electronics are about the most unreliable on the market.

Always a chance that the PCB was damaged when the motor burnt out.

A change in the wind direction is all that is needed to knock these PCB’s out of kilter. 😥
