ParticipantWent to a Kenwood dishwasher that was under-heating and showing E3 error code. Model KDW 12 ST3A
We assumed this was the NTC failing, but could only find a button-type thermostat which could also be a mere TOC – in a funny looking black plastic holder that holds it against the underside of the wash pan, with lots of white conductive paste on it.
Doe anyone know if these things have a probe NTC or some other part, or is the stat we found the only heat control?
The heater unit is the tubular-capsule type found in Whirlpools and old Phillips DWs
Thanks for any help on this.

Chinese Haier crap, also sold as that good British name “Belling”.
Heater stats go O/C, they are a pair.
See this………. http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … dishwasher

you know the black plastic bracket that holds the stats in place? i am awaiting one of those, have been for weeks. same fault on my customers m/c.
There is an over-heat cut out as well if i assume correctly.
If this is open circuit, replace all thermostats in both areas 🙂

try setting on a quick wash but after machine has filled add 1/2 ltr of water to tub and see if appliance heats
poor fill level will cause air pockets to travel through heater tube causeing heater to cut out if unit heats properly check for blockages in pressure system

Hi
there is a modified pressure switch for this haier model which allows the extra fill level.
I will get the part number later todayBryan

Per my previous post, I got the Part No. 504-517-103-3452-2 from Connect but although listed as “thermostat kit” it has only one stat. Connect said it replaced a previous part.
My question is, per a previous thread, there is also a “thermal limiter” fitted to the Haier machines (see Whitegoods shop “012G6010009 – Hygena & Others Dishwasher Thermal Limiter” with photo. It screws into the tub base). This has a manual reset. Could this be the problem, rather than the single stat (Which incidently comes complete with the plastic holder assy, which in fact has room for two stats) ??
Regards to all

Hi
As MY previoos post..put an extra 1 1/2 ltrs of water into the dishwasher once started and you will find that it will work without failure.the pressure switch on the hose from the main wash pump hasnt got enough pressure to switch the heater on..

Hi Bryan
You said:

Also, do you have any theory as to why this happens? Does the motor run slower with age?

Participantcapacitors have a habit of giving intermitent starts on these or blocked spray arms causing the stats
to go o/c
