ParticipantA couple of weeks ago the machine failed to empty, leaving dirty water in the machine at the end of the cycle. Start a new program it emptied & all was then well. A couple of days ago we started a wash cycle as normal, shut the door, the pump normally runs for about 10 seconds then the cycle starts. However the pump just runs continuously?? After looking here there seemed to be a few links to the subject of water being in the base & the anti flood switch being activated. I removed the machine & proceeded to strip it all down & give it a service. There was indeed about 15mm of water in the base. This was all cleaned out & the machine all cleaned out. I removed all of the hoses from the suction unit & cleaned all of this out, removed the pump etc. All looks good, no debris. The machine does however smell inside. One thing I did notice was some soggy, dirty looking salt in one section of the salt container, this was impossible to remove? I rebuilt the machine & re-fitted it all clean & dry. I then tried to start a normal program. Still the same, the pump runs continuously. I then decided to run the self test that i found on here. Held down the program select button for 30s, all lights lit up & then pressed it again, & shut the door. Wash program started all seemed good. until the end. I opened the door to lots of hot water lying in the bottom. The fault code lights were as follows:- (Lights from left to Right) 2 & 3 illuminated 5 flashing???? My manual says “Dishwasher does not drain”. I can see that!!
Where do I go from here, any ideas?????
Thanks

Hi, I am a householder who has benefitted from the advice on here several times, so this is no way a pro opinion!
We had one of these (or very similar, ours was labeled IKEA) machines and after 7 years hassle free use the same happened, i did as you have and concluded that it was gummed up with salt especially the tubes and reservoir, it was caked solid and i hosed them out, tried boliing water to dissolve it, poked tem through with wire all to no avail. I even priced up the plastic assemblies to see if I could replace them. No way too expensive, we bought a new bosch machine thats went – touch wood – perfectly for 12 months and i sold the old machine on ebay at 1p start price, I got £15 for it from a pro engineer.Hope this helps. ❓
