My Hoover washing machine 1300 special edition model number is AA230 will not spin. it just drains I have checked the brushes and their is well over an inch left on them. The drain pump also works fine.and it runs though the cycles. I have checked the sump which is also clean

You need to check the motor with a megger or suitable multimeter and then carefully check all of the motor wiring harness and plug connections between the motor and the control panel.

Do you get any motor action when washing. It should turn clockwise & anti clockwise.
If you have lost one of the directions then the pcb is the likely culprit.
Faulty heater can cause a no spin plus a blockage in the pressure vessel.There is quite a few causes of a no spin.

Please unplug machine if you are ‘going in.’
