ParticipantBeen to another beko that would not do anything just sat there …power lights on but won’t fill etc…
Checked tap was on and inlet filter clear (cold fill only) took motor off and megged it all ok with meter … tacho reading 56.4 ohms with dvm ..noticed that tacho magnet had a slight crack in it but was still on shaft and not loose …is there anything that i can use to seal the crack as i don’t have any spare magnets due to being a newbie or if any one has a spare i’ll buy it. 😥
Anyway checked brushes after i megged it and they were well worn down and had broken off what was left of them 😯 woman says she had new ones fitted in jan this year but i did notice a few slight scoring of commutator (maybe this wore the brushes down quicker as she says it’s on all the time but no raised bits ,could do with a good clean).
She said she was gonna call guy who fitted em as she thought that they should have lasted longer but i explained it was not his fault and that this is heavily used everyday ..
So i am gonna get the brushes and fit them for her and take it from there …
Seems that beko is the choice for people who don’t wanna spend much on a w/m .. i have been to 3 in the last 2wks ..
was wondering about getting a few spares but not sure which brushes to keep in stock because i am not doing to much at the moment.I know a few different beko brushes might come in handy.
Shaun ps just been looking to see if i can get a tacho magnet but cannot find one .. why don’t they sell them as a spare part when they know they are a problem 👿

ParticipantHas anyone got a spare magnet for the above as i feel that the crack in the one on this motor is eventually gonna go ..I don’t mind paying for it ..just wanna do the job right for the woman 😀 I have informed her about it and explained it to her as she really cannot afford a new motor at this time .. 4 kids and no hubby so she would take the gamble to howc long tacho will hold out but as said ,i don’t like doing that knowing there is a crack in the magnet now :rolls:

New brushes fitted and all working well ..tacho i repaired the hairline crack with some araldite rapid steel which seemed to work ,only time will tell but customer was happy to do it that way as i did not have a spare tacho magnet.

checked for interest
you can get
tacho
tacho coverbut not magnet
brushes for this model are the same as hoover qualtex car75 so worth keeping in stock because it fits so many machines

Thanks for that Dave .I did notice when searching for tacho magnet that you can get tacho coil and cover but not the magnet ..shame they do not sell it as a spare ..I’ll make sure i keep them of any BER m/c in-future.
Will get some spare brushes in ..Thanks again.
