ParticipantI made the decision to buy an ISE 10 partly based on information found in this forum, so I thought I would put something back by posting my thoughts so far (10 days since ordering)
I almost fell at the first hurdle when the UK whitegoods shop wouldn’t accept my creditcard (even after the CC company pre authorised it). Managed to get round the issue by paying with Paypal (which I am slightly uncomfortable with for that value)
On checking my shop account I then worryingly found that 2 orders were listed. I couldn’t spot a phone no on the site (its at the bottom of the front page I later found), and it was Sunday anyway, so I used the contact form and was surprised to get an email back within 30 minutes confirming all was well.
I got a phone call from a delivery company on Tuesday offering a Thursday delivery – I couldn’t make Thursday and opted for Friday instead. This was a surprise as all of the literature had suggested a local engineer would deliver and install which was a major selling point for me (I have know idea which end of the spanner to do screws up with).
The delivery was confirmed on Thursday and a time of 12 – 2 given. At 3 on Friday the machine had not turned up and I realised the delivery company only had my office number. I rang UKwhitegoods who rang me back with an updated time of 5. I subsequently found messages on my office phone from the delivery company saying they would be late and giving the new time.
The delivery chap took one look at my kitchen and said he couldn’t install the ISE because the standard water fill pipe wouldn’t reach, and he wasn’t allowed to connect the pipe I already had in place. He was going to leave the machine in the middle of the kitchen but I did persuade him to move it a bit closer
I then discovered the waste pipe was too short so was a bit stuck. I have wired the machine to the wall point (not sure what its called but its not a socket), and connected up the “non standard” inlet pipe. At the moment the machine is out of its “slot” and the waste is going to the sink (tied to the tap!) I have discovered a waste extension on ebay so have sent for that which will hopefully sort things out.
Anyway the machine is built like a tank – seems about twice as heavy as the hotpoint aquarius it replaced. Seems to work well and is much quieter. It certainly looks like it will last for years.
Not sure who I am supposed to ring if it breaks – presumably ISE?
Anyway with hindsight would I still have bought an ISE 10 – definitely!
Hope this is of some use to anyone else considering an ISE10

GaryB2 thanks for this post I missed it. Thought I’d reply as comments are appreciated and always pleased to hear good things about the ISE10. I am thinking of getting the current model.
I guess you have had the waste sorted now, the delivery people could have been a bit more helpful. But maybe they aren’t “allowed” to meddle with the pipe.

I had a similar problem with the water inlet pipe. Its made out of an acrylic type stiff plastic. the fitter took one look at the 60cm space it was being slotted into and said it wouldnt fit as it was too tight. they where taking away my LG for disposal and luckily the cable of that would fit but he wouldnt fit it for some reason. So i fitted it myself but for a minute there he was going to leave it unplugged. Given that it is being supplied to allot of home users maybe a standard bendy pipe may be in order.

Don’t know what type of inlet pipe you refer to as I have no dealings with ISE machines. But from the description given it sounds very similar to the Bosch/Siemens type black preformed inlet hose assembly. (A very stiff 1.5 metre coil of vinyl tubing with 3/4 BSP female couplings on each end).
If my description matches the ISE water inlet hose then the easiest way of dealing with those is as follows: Coil the hose and place it in a bowl of hot water for 15 Min’s. You will find then that the hose will be far more pliable and cooperative toward where you wish it the be located. 😉

The Asko fill hose is much thicker and stronger than the BSH type of hose Martin. 😉
It can be nigh on impossible to fit it in some circumstances due to the fact that it does not have an ‘elbowed’ end either. It really is a heavy duty hose and there have been times when I have had to use a standard fill hose instead.
Doing so should not cause any problems whatsoever. I would not reuse the original pipe but always fit a new one though. 😉

I think it is called a pex hose, white and of a very stiff material, it says on here that they can last 50 years 😯
My ‘chap’ had no problem fitting mine, he mentioned the same method as above regarding bending, but he also said that it would be neigh-on impossible to bend it at a 45{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} angle without kinking it, he hasnt had one yet he hasnt been able to fit though 🙂regards

If the cold water tap was just over an inch from the bottom of the cupboard and facing downwards I think he might struggle. 😉

Yes quickwash, it is a Pex hose.
Yes, it is guaranteed (by PEX that make it) apparently for 50 years.
Yes, they can be a pain to fit but I’ve not yet come across an install I couldn’t use it on, yet. I’m sure there will be some though.
The reason that it’s supplied with the ISE10 machines is quite simple. Pex were the only hose manufacturer that would warranty the hose for the minimum quality requirements by Asko in Sweden, as in, more than a minimum of 15,000 cycles or about 23 years of domestic use.
So, we bow to the fact that it’s built to last and, wherever it’s possible, they get fitted.
Needless to say however, there’s no aftermarket sales for replacement PEX hoses, you never replace them… ever!

hi ken,
Yes it did look and feel ‘the business!’
I asked my ‘chap’ if i could investigate it before he fitted it, as i knew they were of a ‘real’ good quality 🙂
Sure glad that mine was fitted ok 😀 My old hoses were leaking anyhow, I had an old bottle balanced on the waste pipe catching the drips (i 😯 myself sometimes with my ingenuity 😆 ) as i knew the 1607 would be arriving with a ‘super’ hose 😉
