    Sorry to be a bit vague on this one, it’s an unbranded dishwasher which is clearly a Whirlpool, no model/12nc

    After a few seconds on wash, the dishwasher cuts out with the start light flashing 6 times.

    I checked the known error codes for these, but 6 is missing and seems to jump from 4 to 7 on the list 😕

    Any ideas please ?

    Dave,

    Without looking at tech info I am pretty sure 6 flashes is equal to F6 which is an inlet problem, no water, faulty valve or flowmeter failure.

    If the fault is happening within the first couple of minutes it is usualy either this, a ntc fault or a leak activating the floater that is causing the problem

    It does actually fill and the circ pump fires up ok, also no leaks, so I would suspect the ntc as I know these have a high failure rate even hough it doesn’t correspond to the relevent fault code for that 😕

    It turned out to be a CDA brand in the end, free parts for five years, can’t be bad. I’ve ordered an ntc and a main pcb, CDA are quite happy to supply both for a quick solution.

    Hi Dave

    I just checked this one and it’s exactly as John says, water inlet or flow meter. But if it’s filling and starting to wash then I’d suspect either NTC or module too.
    I had one today that aborted after a minute or two of washing (though I didn’t count the flashes) and it wouldn’t reset, I took out the new style NTC and fit one of the older ones and off it went.
